They Stepped On MY Toes

It happened tonight.
In a rare way.
Usually when we hear truth about our negatives it's given in a harsh manner.
You never...
Why can't you...
You're too... I try to weed out the hurts in the commenting, try to remember my Dad's saying: Truth in a polyester suit. Sometimes the criticism is completely ignored because of the manner of the telling.
And yet tonight I had a nice sound reprimand, and it was refreshing.  Given in a Godly way, by those who truly have the best at heart.
My response?
  • I need to change my heart
  • I need to be willing to obey God's word
  • I want to give that kind of gracious rebuke to others. Nope, nobody in mind.  Just that even hard truths given in a kind, loving way - can be a really great blessing.
Dear Lord,
I'm sorry for where I've failed you. How I've put my impulsiveness ahead of waiting on You.  And where I've waited rather than doing what I'm convicted of.  I want my heart to be clean of pride.  Lord, I really want to be excited about You and what You've done and can do. Please keep my heart soft.  Thank you for Jesus.  Thank you for the hope I have in Him.
I love you.
